The House of Representatives approved on Friday night (October 9, 2015) the proposed P3.002 trillion spending measure of the Aquino administration for 2016 before adjourning for a three-week break. 

Deputy Speaker Roberto Puno and three other congressmen have jointly authored a measure renaming a stretch of national roads traversing  the province of Rizal after the late President Corazon “Cory” Aquino, in recognition of her service to the Filipino people as Chief Executive of the Republic. 

Leaders of the National Unity Party (NUP) have urged their members to wait for the organization’s collective decision before committing to support a presidential candidate in 2016. 

The House of Representatives has begun plenary debates  last week on the proposed P3.002-trillion national budget for 2016, of which almost three-fourths or P2.139 trillion consists of new appropriations. 

The National Unity Party (NUP)  has invited Vice President Jejomar Binay, former Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas and Senator  Grace Poe to present their respective platforms of government when it holds its national convention today (September 28, 2015) in preparation for the 2016 elections.
