A measure regulating, promoting and protecting the professional practice of naval architecture in the Philippines has been approved by the House of Representatives on second reading. 

The chairperson of the suffrage committee of the House of Representatives has warned Comelec commissioners against any plan of reverting to manual elections next year, saying such proposals  could lead to  impeachment proceedings against them for violations of existing electoral reform laws. 

Davao City Representative Karlo Alexei Nograles has expressed concern over a  provision in the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) that would provide the new autonomous region in Muslim Mindanao with a P27 billion annual block grant free from the scrutiny of the budget department and state auditors. 

Cavite Representative Elpidio Barzaga Jr. is asking why the Commission on Elections (Comelec) had disqualified the only two bidders for the P2.5 billion contract to supply additional automated vote counting machines for the 2016 elections. 

The House of Representatives has passed on third and final reading a measure authored by Davao City Representative Karlo Alexei Nograles which aims to speed up the resolution of labor disputes  by strengthening the government agency tasked to handle them.
