A measure expanding the 20% student fare discount to cover all kinds of public transport, including airplanes and ferries,  has been approved by the House of Representatives on third and final reading.

The Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives has approved a measure authored by Davao City Rep. Karlo Alexei Nograles, which aims to strengthen the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) by increasing its capability in resolving  labor cases. 

Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. said the initiative of President Benigno Aquino III to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on the sidelines of the  22nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Chief Executive Officers Summit was a “welcome development” that “opens doors to numerous possibilities including the resolution of current and age-old conflicts.”

Several lawmakers, on the initiative of  Representative Catalina Leonen-Pizarro (Partylist, ABS), has called on President Benigno Aquino III to speed up the full implementation of the Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs) covering eight professional services  entered into by the Philippines with members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean). 

The House of Representatives  has unanimously approved on third and final reading a proposed law that would include Moro History, Culture and Identity Studies as an elective subject in the higher education curriculum.
