Masbate Representative Maria Vida Bravo has filed a measure seeking the creation of the Masbate Institute of Fisheries and Technology in Ticao Island in the Bicol Region to provide young Filipinos living there easy and affordable access to technical education. 

Filipinos now have to be doubly burdened with the manual and electronic filing of  their income tax returns (ITRs)  instead of expecting streamlined and simplified steps from the government to encourage them to religiously pay their taxes. 

Davao City Representative Karlo Alexei Nograles wants to expand the coverage of the government’s special employment program for students to include out-of-school youth (OSY) and children of displaced workers. 

Dasmarinas City Representative Elpidio Barzaga Jr. has strongly opposed calls to subject to polygraph tests certain resource persons in the ongoing House inquiry into the clash that killed 44 Special Action Force  (SAF) commandos last Jan. 25 in Mamasapano, Maguindanao. 

Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. has welcomed the signing into law by President Benigno Aquino III of a measure deferring the conduct of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections this year to the last Monday of October 2016.
